EDC Orlando 2018 Lineup Released: Includes ALESSO, Alison Wonderland, BASSNECTAR and more
One of the biggest festivals of the year just dropped their 2018 lineup. That’s right, gear up for EDC Orlando 2018!
This year, we can expect acts such as Alesso, Alison Wonderland, Illenium, Martin Garrix and more. Some headliners missing from past years include Above and Beyond, Alan Walker, and Armin van Buuren.
In past years, EDC Orlando waited until August to drop their line up, but it came as an early present this year for attendees. Dropping 5 months before the festival, festival goers now have plenty of time to plan and prepare for this epic festival.
EDC Orlando features a mix of electronic music, art installations, carnival rides and of course the amazing community that comes along with it. EDC made its first debut in Orlando in 2011 at Tinker Field where it is still held today. Last year, EDC Orland saw almost 30,000 people, not including those who work the festival.
The extra lead time is a bigger deal than it might sound like on paper. Insomniac has always run EDC Orlando a little differently than its bigger siblings in Las Vegas, keeping it as a single-day-turned-two-day event that leans into a more intimate, community-driven vibe even as the production budget has scaled up year over year. Getting the artist lineup out earlier gives fans more runway to lock in travel, coordinate crews flying in from out of state, and budget for the ticket tiers before prices climb closer to the date. For a festival that pulls a serious chunk of its crowd from outside Florida, that’s a genuinely useful change, not just a marketing flex.
As for the lineup itself, this year’s bill leans hard into the bass and future bass side of the genre alongside the big-room names, which tracks with where a lot of the festival circuit has been trending. Losing longtime EDC staples like Above and Beyond, Alan Walker, and Armin van Buuren from the bill is notable too, a reminder that even a festival’s most reliable returning acts rotate out eventually to keep the lineup feeling fresh rather than recycled from summer to summer.
