Fans Are Calling For A Zedd x Rezz Collaboration After Twitter Interaction

If there is one thing that Twitter is good for in this day and age – it is building up the hype train. For Zedd and Rezz fans, it was ALL ABOARD yesterday when the duo started to joke about a collaboration.
It all started out with Zedd busting out some hilarious dance moves and after Rezz responded all bets were off. Apparently, any interaction between artists on Twitter now means they will be releasing a collaboration shortly. Still, Zedd added fuel to the fire (which is quickly becoming his trademark) by responding to a fan saying that he was down for a collab.
While we have to imagine this is all some ridiculous joke, and should not expect a release from the duo any time soon (or ever), we do have to pause and ask ourselves, how exactly would a track like that sound?
Check out the tweets that set off the firestorm below.

The Hunch Turned Out To Be Right
We called this one correctly back in 2018 — as far as we can confirm, Zedd and Rezz never actually released a collaboration together. It’s worth clearing up a common mix-up here too, since it’s an easy one to make: Rezz did go on to release a genuine, highly anticipated collaboration called “Into The Abyss” with Zeds Dead in 2020, a completely different act whose name just happens to sound almost identical to Zedd’s. Fans hyped on this Twitter exchange sometimes conflate the two, but Zedd himself never actually followed through on the joking “let’s do it” tweet from this thread.
It’s a fun reminder of how much weight fans put on artist Twitter interactions during this era, treating even the most obviously joking exchange as a real announcement in waiting. Zedd and Rezz occupy pretty different corners of dance music too — Zedd’s polished pop-EDM crossover sound versus Rezz’s dark, hypnotic bass style — which honestly would have made for a genuinely fascinating, if unlikely, pairing had it ever actually happened.
