Don Diablo is one of the most talented producers in the game. You really cannot dispute the claim when you look at his following, release schedule and chart placement. Don knows what the people want and he goes very out of his way to give it to them. I had the privilege to sit down with Don Diablo at Miami Music Week this year and something he said has kept me thinking for two months now. Today I finally got some answers, as did the legions of Hexagonians waiting for the next big Don Diablo announcement.
Don Diablo Announces FutureXL
I asked Don in our interview what was next for him. It is a fairly common question that just about every interviewer can attest is a crucial follow up. Don laughed before responding “Oh I drop a massive album full of never before heard records like two months ago, and you still want to know what's next?”, he continued to chuckle and followed up his joke with the sentiment, “I can't go into a bunch of detail but we have some really cool stuff planned for the rest of 2018.”
Today Don took to social media to announce that FutureXL will be making its debut coming August 12th. This is exciting news. But uhhh wait. What is FutureXL? Well that is part of the fun. Nobody is quite sure yet. If I had to make an educated guess I would say an extended release of the album, potentially with releases, or even new tracks. Only time will tell though, and Don has promised details will emerge soon. Check out the teaser below.
