Cedric Gervais Accused Of Plagiarizing Solidisco In His Release – ‘Do It Tonight’

Plagiarism is an unfortunate reality in any of the creative arts. Dance music specifically is known for its many cases of similar sounding tracks. This usually stems from two songs sampling the same track. That being said there is really no excuse for unoriginal music. Just look at Pretty Lights ‘Finally Moving' and Avicii‘s ‘Levels' both songs sample the same soul classic, yet sound nothing alike.

This week half of Solidisco has accused Cedric Gervais of ripping off their 2013 remix of The S.O.S Band's timeless classic ‘Take Your Time' with his latest release, ‘Do It Tonight'.

Cedric Gervais Accused Of Plagiarism

In a damning video posted to Youtube, DSTAR, one half of Solidisco, compared both tracks as well as posted a brief conversation between himself and Cedric. While the tracks do sound quite similar we will let you form your own opinion on this one. Below you will find three videos. The first is DSTAR's video explaining and situation. Then you will find both Solidisco's 2013 remix as well as Cedric's track which dropped just last week.
