Afrojack has been playing around with new production styles. The artist has even begun with a few aliases. While the least subtle might be DJ Afrojack, we are loving the new energy the producer has found under the moniker. Today Afrojack has teamed up with DISTO for an unbelievable new house single, that just goes absolutely off.
DJ Afrojack & DISTO – ‘My City'
Afrojack has always had a powerful approach to music. He helped really form the Dutch house genre in the late 2000's through his forward-thinking sound design and unexpected arrangements. ‘My City' continues this trend in a bit of an unexpected way.
While at its core the tune is a future house tune, what Afrojack has created is nothing short of impressive. A pounding, buzzsaw break section comes about midway through the track that ramps the energy level up into space. This was not what I was expecting to come from Afrojack, but it makes me incredibly happy to hear that as a producer AJ is still more than capable of making my jaw hit the floor.
