Kayzo Teams Up With Micah Martin For Sound Wave Killer “OVERLOAD”
Coming off a killer 2017, Kayzo announced the drop of his forthcoming album weeks ago:
“I’m proud to announce that my debut album Overload will release on January 19th, 2018,” Off the album, the featured single “OVERLOAD” has hit sound waves hard and delivers what we have grown to know and love from the producer/DJ. Setting the tone for a great follow up on his successes from last year, Kayzo is not taking any time to rest.
The track opens with a rad guitar solo, the song captivates its listeners off the jump. The rock tone continues with a drum introduction with heavy vocals. The vocals continue to deliver on the rock elements of the track and drive us into what we have grown to love from Kayzo, a heavy dub/bass infused drop. The second drop switches it up to more of a fast paced drop that would be perfect for some cardio work at the gym. Kayzo never disappoints on his tracks and “OVERLOAD” with Micah Martin is nothing short of dub perfection. The guitar continues throughout the track and continues to make us feel like we are at a rock/heavy metal show only to toss us right back into the whirlwind of bass beauty in the various drops.

Overload Set The Tone For Kayzo’s Whole Career
Looking back, “Overload” turned out to be a pretty accurate mission statement for everything Kayzo would build afterward. He’s stayed one of the few producers who can genuinely blend metalcore and rock energy into bass music without it feeling gimmicky, and that guitar-driven, heavy-vocal formula became his calling card. He’s since headlined his own Wreckage tour and kept collaborating with rock and metalcore vocalists alongside straight-up dubstep artists, carving out a lane that’s entirely his own in a scene that doesn’t always reward genre-blending this aggressively.
Micah Martin, for his part, has stayed a go-to collaborator in the scene too, lending vocals to plenty of bass tracks that need that same rock-forward punch. Tracks like “OVERLOAD” are a big reason Kayzo’s live shows feel more like a mosh pit than a typical festival set – and that’s exactly the point.
