Steve Aoki is a true man of mystery. Every time I fire up good old Spotify to take a listen to one of his originals or remixes I truly have no idea what to expect. I could get straight electro, I could get straight rap. It is a mixed bag. So when I first heard that he remixed Garmiani's ‘Shine Good' I was curious to see the outcome. Honestly though I was not expecting a bass house tune that I would fall madly in love with.

The tune starts off more or less the same as the original but man, when this one finally drops it drops hard. The smacking bass house drop is just the right amount of powerful. It is something that could find it's home on Night Bass. This is entirely unexpected from Steve Aoki who has not strayed into the hard house genres recently. While it was unexpected it was entirely welcome. This is some of Steve's best work yet in 2017.
