Skrillex Reunites With Poo Bear To Produce New Track For Latin Vocalist Juanes- ‘All We Can Do’

Skrillex has moved heavily away from solo work in the last quarter of 2017 and focused heavily on production for artists ranging in every imaginable genre. Today the latest Skrillex production has dropped and it is for his past collaborator Poo Bear and Latin vocalist Juanes. ‘All We Can Do’ is a slow and relaxed track that will give you visual imagery of gorgeous coastal beaches.

Skrillex clearly took inspiration from both Latin and Reggae genres to help curate the perfectly chilled out vibe for Juanes to sing over. Yet again we have to say that we are a little confused by Skrillex’s focus as many of the tracks he has focused on will not be making any major waves. None the less Sonny continues to show up that he is capable of making music at every and all levels.

This isn’t Skrillex and Poo Bear’s first rodeo together either — the two have quietly built up a solid working relationship behind the scenes over the past couple of years, and their chemistry shows in how naturally the production settles behind Juanes’s vocal instead of fighting for space with it. For anyone unfamiliar, Juanes is a genuine legend in Latin music, a Colombian singer-songwriter with a stacked trophy case of Latin Grammy wins built on decades of rock and pop hits across Latin America. Hearing him drop into a laid-back, reggae-tinged pocket like this is a genuinely fun left turn for an artist of his stature.

‘All We Can Do’ plays like a warm-weather palate cleanser more than a big radio single, and that might be exactly the point. Not every Skrillex production has to be built for a festival mainstage — some of them are just meant to sound good with your toes in the sand. Whether or not this one becomes a sleeper hit, it’s another data point in Skrillex’s ongoing 2017 experiment of putting his name behind other people’s songs instead of his own.

Between his own catalog, his features for other artists, and now these steady production credits, it’s genuinely hard to keep a running tally of everything Skrillex has touched in 2017 alone. If this pace keeps up, we might need a full spreadsheet just to track who he’s working with next.
