The Dutch Superstar-DJ continued his reign over the EDM game in 2017 with ease. Recently being named the #11 DJ in the world by DJ Mag, Don had hit the soundwaves hard without once letting his foot off the gas. Since the turn of the year, Diablo had blessed fans with hit singles: “Switch,” “Children of a Miracle,” “Save A Little Love,” “Momentum” & “Don’t Let Go,” leaving us highly anticipating another smash hit with this collab.

“Take Her Place” came out as promised on October 27, 2017, and the accompanying music video followed on November 23rd, leaning into a nostalgic, ’80s-inspired visual style. The song later appeared on Don Diablo’s second studio album, Future, and went on to chart on Billboard’s US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2018, adding another entry to Don Diablo’s growing run of crossover hits blending house production with A R I Z O N A’s indie-pop vocals.
The People Behind The Track
Don Diablo, born Don Pepijn Schipper, had launched his own label, Hexagon, back in 2015, and by 2017 it had already earned “Best New Label” honors after its first release spent nearly seven weeks at No. 1 on Beatport. That #11 DJ Mag ranking came alongside a Highest Future House award the same year, on the back of a run that included sold-out European headline dates and festival sets at Tomorrowland, EDC, and Creamfields. A R I Z O N A, meanwhile, were a New Jersey pop-rock trio who’d signed to Atlantic Records in 2016 and were coming off their debut album, Gallery, released just months earlier in May 2017. Pairing Don Diablo’s house production with the band’s indie-pop vocals gave both acts a foothold in each other’s audiences.
