Vacationing or going to a music festival in the United States? Be warned, some countries are saying.
Throughout the past couple of years, natural disasters such as Hurricanes, wildfires have torn through the country. On top of that, the advisories are also noting potential violence in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting.
While warnings for travel to the United States aren't new according to the NY Times, the travel warnings have picked up significantly in the last few weeks. In fact, on October 16th, the Canadian government updates its travel advisory to the United States. The new warning says that “the possession of firearms and the frequency of violent crime are generally more prevalent in the U.S. than in Canada.”
The United Kingdom says that “terrorists are very likely to try and carry out attacks in the USA” and that these attacks could happen “in places visited by foreigners.”
New Zealand also updated their Safe Travel website to say that “Active shooter incidents occur from time to time in the United States.”
