The BPM Festival experienced a tragedy in January of this year when one of their closing parties was subject to a narco terror attack. The gunfire which was reported to be retribution for the failure to pay protection to the local cartel, left several dead and dozens wounded. From that point on it was known that The BPM Festival would not be returning to Mexico.
In September the festival held it's first Portugal edition and enjoyed massive success. The BPM Festival has released an official statement letting it's massive fan base know that there will not be a BPM in January of 2018. The festival is in the process of scouting for a site for a 2019 edition and will be returning to Portugal in September of 2018 as well.
