KAABOO Del Mar [Event Preview]

Each year hundreds of thousands of people google their favorite artists to find which festivals they are performing. Most fans have one common expectation; to see live music. Most music festivals offer the same thing. A solid lineup, a few stages, and some food trucks and things to keep you busy between sets. Very rarely do music festivals transform into something where music shares the stage with food, comedy, or even art. In fact, most people will never experience festivals like that. Luckily, KAABOO in Del Mar, California gives festival goers the opportunity to experience all of those things in one ultimate weekend.

KAABOO goes above and beyond, delivering a one of a kind experience for any festival goer. KAABOO can be broken down in five main parts: Indulgences, Culinary, Art, Comedy, and of course, Music. Don't be mistaken though, this isn't just a music festival with the other aspects thrown in. It is a festival carefully planned, with each aspect well thought out and given the exact same attention. First up are the Indulgences. They are offered for both Men and Woman. KAABOO offers such things as Cake and Punch, where anyone can go and get handmade flower crowns made on the spot. Cake and Punch uses fresh cut florals along with the highest quality materials. If flower crowns aren't your style, head over to V's Barbershop and get a fresh cut to look your best for the festival. If you already came to the event looking fresh you can head over to one of the other stands such as Rapid Recovery Hydration Solutions, Momma's Medi Spa, or any of the other indulgences to see what would peak your interest.

Maybe your stomach is grumbling and you need a bite before some great tunes. Have no fear, KAABOO offers a massive culinary experience. KAABOO has stacked lineups of both food and world class chefs. Don't miss appearances and experiences by chefs such as Robert Irvine, Richard Blais, Michael Voltaggio, Kelis, Kevin Gillespie, Chris Adams, Julio Cabrera and more. Not only will a vast array of chefs be present but there will be food served by a number of different food vendors there to share some tasty bites. There is surely something there for everyone with food including crab, pizza, burgers, tacos and a number of different desserts! Food from places like Davanti Enoteca, Crab Hut, Bling Bling Dumpling, Puesto, Wicked Maine Lobster, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Aloha Acai Bowls and much much more. But save some room for dessert! Desserts include The Baked BearMallow Mallow, Mariposa Ice Cream, Rita's Italian Ice, to name a few will be serving up something to satisfy your sweet tooth. And to wash it all down, look for drinks from Legacy Brewing Co, Latitude 33, Magic Hat Brewery, Do Good Distillery, Crystal Head Vodka, Onehope and much more set up to wet the whistle of all the thirsty festival attendees.

After a full stomach it could be time to digest while strolling around and taking in some of the amazing art KAABOO has to offer. This isn't one of those festivals that has a few pieces being shown by a local artist in the corner of the festival. KAABOO offers an abundance of art by dozens of artists across multiple medians. Sculptures, painters, visual artists, and fine art, KAABOO has it all. Take in art from artists such as Pichiavo, Ouizi, Paola Delfin, Lauren ys, Lucien Shapiro, Nychos, Kelly Ording, Ian Ross, Lauren Napolitano and more. With galleries including C.A.V.E Gallery, Distinction Gallery, Sparks Gallery, Visual Gallery, KAABOO's own Gallery, and much much more. With all this art any festival goer could get lost in these pieces for hours if not all day.

There is such a range of comedy that there is for sure something for every attendee to enjoy.

I hope at this point, you aren't too tired out. It's time for the main event, THE MUSIC! KAABOO Del Mar offers more than 4 stages pumping out great tunes all weekend! Stages include the Mercedes-Benz Sunset Cliffs Stage, Trestles, The Grandview, and more. Make sure not to miss Bask at the Grandview. This is one of those rare festivals where attendees can view the stage from a cabana with some sand, or even cooling off in a pool! Whether you are attending for one day, or all three, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Kick the weekend off with tunes from Le Youth, Dave Mason, Smash Mouth, Kap Slap, and more. As the sun goes down make sure to be near a stage so you don't miss Weezer, Kesha, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers!

As Saturday starts, make a note to see One Drop, The Knocks, and Machine Gun Kelly. After some food and art, and maybe a laugh or two, head back towards the stages to see Ice Cube, Jane's Addiction, and The Wallflowers. Closing out Saturday night are two of everyone's favorites, P!NK and Muse. Make sure you save some energy for the last day, there are still some very big acts heading your way. As you power through the day make sure to catch tunes from Milky Chance, Pete Yorn, and Trevor Hall. As the festival comes to a close do not miss Jason Derulo, Alanis Morissette, and the legendary Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Three days, dozens of bands, a ton of food, and lots of laughs. Together this creates a festival that will never be forgotten. This year KAABOO in Del Mar takes place September 15-17.
