Kygo Debuted A Gorgeous New Track Last Night In His Home Country Of Norway: Listen Here
Kygo has been killing 2017 so far. His smash hit with Ellie Goulding has gone platinum, his documentary was released via Apple music and he has played the largest festivals in the world. To keep the momentum going forward Kygo needed a new release that would once again stop the show. Last night at Jugendfest in Kygo‘s native Norway he debuted a new track entitled ‘Stargazing’.
Kygo uploaded two small clips of the new tune to his Instagram story and we were able to snag them for your listening and previewing pleasure. While the clips are brief, they give you a solid idea of what to expect. Of course beautiful piano riffs and infectious lyrics are part of the new track. Take a listen below.

Jugendfest is a bigger deal than the name might suggest to non-Norwegian fans
Jugendfest is actually a well-established Norwegian youth music festival series held across several cities, not some small local show, so debuting a brand new track there in his home country carried real weight for Kygo. Playing a completely unreleased song in front of a home crowd before anyone else got to hear it is the kind of move that only really works when an artist trusts the material is strong enough to land without any of the usual promotional buildup.
“Stargazing” went through a whole live-only phase before it ever got a studio release
Looking back, this Jugendfest set was really just the first stop on a much longer tease. Kygo kept playing “Stargazing” live for weeks after this, through Ibiza, Las Vegas, and beyond, all before the track finally got its official September 2017 release with Justin Jesso’s vocals fully credited. That kind of extended live-only rollout is pretty rare now, most unreleased tracks leak or get an official teaser within days, but this one stayed a genuine in-person-only experience for a solid chunk of the summer.
Fan-captured Instagram clips were basically the only way to hear it early
Before “Stargazing” had an official release, grainy Instagram story clips like the ones originally embedded in this post were the only way fans outside those specific festival crowds could hear even a few seconds of it. That’s a pretty different media landscape than today, where a new unreleased track can end up ripped, uploaded, and fully shared within minutes of an artist stepping off stage.
