Electronic music is one of the younger genres of music around. That being said it has been around a lot longer than many fans are aware of. Kraftwerk were arguably the first electronic music artists ever. Their pioneering sound design and instrument experimentation helped set the stage for what would become the worldwide movement we know and love.
In the /r/EDM subreddit a user found this incredible video of the earliest recording of the band performing live. It is from the same year that they formed, 1970. It is kind of incredible to see how far things have come over the years. Kraftwerk continues to perform today, even if their shows are sporadic or rare, the group remains dance music pioneers almost 50 years later.
