The Chainsmokers Reveal Who They Believe Are The Most Underrated Artists In EDM
A thread was started on /r/EDM yesterday discussing who people believed were the most underrated artists. To almost everyone’s surprise The Chainsmokers jumped into the conversation. They had a handful of suggestions to throw into the mix, and honestly we have to entirely agree with them as they were pretty freaking on point.
Two Friends were their number one pick for underrated artist at the moment, and with productions like the ones below it is obvious why. Two Friends are capable of both heart stopping remixes that are fun and unique, as well as upbeat, original productions.

Speaking of Shaun Frank, that is another artist that The Chainsmokers picked out as one of the more underrated artists at the moment. This is not that much of surprise as the artist toured with the duo on the North American leg of their current tour.
Quix, Rezz, K?d and a handful of other artists also received love from the duo who are continuing to demonstrate that their impact is capable of crossing genre lines like a hot knife through butter.
These “Underrated” Picks Aged Extremely Well
Looking back, The Chainsmokers had a genuinely good eye here. Two Friends went on to build a serious touring career and a devoted fanbase around their high-energy mashup sets and originals, eventually landing on major festival lineups in their own right rather than staying a scene-insider secret. Rezz in particular blew up into one of dance music’s most distinctive headliners, developing a signature dark, hypnotic bass sound that’s since made her one of the most recognizable names in the genre, complete with her own festival stage takeovers and a fiercely loyal fanbase who call themselves the “Rezz-idents.”
It says a lot about The Chainsmokers’ ear for talent that basically every name they shouted out here went on to have a real moment. Quix continued pushing his genre-blending trap and future bass sound into bigger rooms, and Shaun Frank kept building his songwriting and production catalog well beyond that Chainsmokers tour support slot. Sometimes the best A&R advice really does come from the artists who are already living inside the scene, paying attention to who’s cooking up something special before the algorithm catches on.
