Snakeships x Anne-Marie x Joey Bada$$ = Pure Heat “Either Way”

There are hip-hop/EDM tracks that make me sad most notably by mainstreamers that are after a bigger paycheck. Then there are tracks like “Either Way” by Snakeships x Anne-Marie x Joey Bada$$ that are elegantly crafted and natural. Having produced the previous banger cross-genre track “All My Friends” with the help of Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, the duo from London are back with some more heat. Snakeships have always been awesome at leaving their talent closet wide-open for cross-genre collabs. Joey Bada$$ comes in as one of the hottest rappers in the game after dropping his Sophomore studio album “All-Amerikkan Bada$$”. London and Brooklyn have bet, and its not all tea and hipsters.

From just over the pond, Oliver Lee and James Carter have built quite the name for themselves in the Dance Music community. This track brings out the best in not only them, but the artists they are collaborating with. It brings almost an R&B feel which is super rad. Snakeships came armed with some killer melody that played tremendously off of the voice of the beautiful Anne-Marie while at the same time offering a great playing field for Joey to let loose lyrically. I was expecting a hard beat when I saw this collaboration but the surprise was welcomed with open arms. As I write in many of my posts, I grew up a hip-hop head on the likes of Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 cent and Kanye. In the current landscape of hip-hop, Joey has etched his name in as one of the realest poets in the game and he did this beat (which is very different for him) justice. Anne-Marie continues to prove her soothing voice's dominance coming off of hitt like “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit x Sean Paul, “Rumour Mill” with Rudimental, and most recently, “Remember I Told You” with Nick Jonas x Mike Posner.

This song proves the musical intellect of Snakeships and their ability to work within any genre they so choose. Other conclusions drawn; Anne-Marie has the voice of Queen Elizabeth and Joey Bada$$ should no longer be “devastated” as he continues to dominate international sound waves.
