RL Grime and Flume Have ‘Been Chatting A Bunch About Working Together’
RL Grime and Flume helped give us one of the most incredible collaborations of all time back in the day. Of course I am talking about the trap insanity that we have come to known as ‘Tell Me’. Of course this track was produced with Emoh Instead as he and Flume worked together under the What So Not moniker at the time of production.

Recently on Triple J RL Grime mentioned some News that fans of any and all music were elated to hear. Flume just relocated to LA from his native Australia which lead to him and RL catching up a bit. In explaining that on air RL Grime let a massive little detail slip –
“I’ve been good friends with him for a long time, four, five years now. I hope we do something together soon. He just moved to L.A. and we’ve been chatting a bunch about working together, so hopefully.”
It seems like it is only a matter of time before we can hear some incredible music coming from the duo as a collaborative effort once again.
The Wait For A Proper Collaboration Is Still Going
As much as fans wanted this one, a full official RL Grime and Flume single credited to just the two of them has never actually materialized as a standalone release. That said, the friendship and creative chemistry between them clearly never went away — the two have shown up back-to-back at festivals over the years and debuted brand new unreleased IDs together live, including a notable moment at Lollapalooza in 2019 that had fans buzzing all over again.
It’s a good reminder that not every teased collaboration in dance music actually needs an official release date to matter. RL Grime and Flume built one of the genre’s most beloved tracks together as What So Not-era collaborators on ‘Tell Me,’ and even without a proper follow-up single, moments like their live-set team-ups keep that connection alive for the fans who’ve been hoping for round two since this Triple J interview first dropped.
