Zedd and Liam Payne Drop Highly Anticipated “Get Low”

Zedd and Liam Payne, formerly of One Direction, have brought us what is going to be a hit of the summer. This club-pop track, though lacking what we are used to from a drop, brings extremely soulful lyrics and a feelsworthy under toned production.

Payne's voice works perfectly with the Zedd's up-tempo production here. It comes off as a very mainstream, poppy, track that will most certainly make its way to your local Radio stations across the globe. Now that One Direction is on a bit of a “hiatus” and these guys are coming out with solo tracks, it seems to me like they all sound extremely similar. It's like the complete opposite of when Nsync broke up and Justin Timberlake was essentially the lone survivor dominating the music industry. This time, the modern day boy band break up has left all of these guys with pretty successful starts to their solo careers. Payne's voice meshes perfectly with Zedd‘s production, firing a hot summer track on all cylinders.

I love a lot of things including bacon, beer and Onion Rings. But none top Zedd, in an ENTIRELY musical sense… Zedd is always good for giving the people what they want. Literally, always. This track manages to bring all the tropical house feels. Partnering hoppy production complete with light percussion sounds that we are so accustomed too with Tropical music, Zedd has another potential Billboard top 10 hit in “Get Low”. When listening to this track, if you take out the vocals, it almost has a “techno feel”. Call me crazy, but this is far from “Clarity”. The track starts out with extremely light bass and snappy sounds and converts to a bit more progressive beat for the hook and chorus with the same underlying tone. Throughout the initial verse we couldn't help but wonder what the “drop” would be like and if Payne's voice would continue to be the focus point of the track. And boom, the more down-tempo beat added more percussion and a bit more hop to conduct something of a “pop-drop”. But, there was really no “feel change”. It may come off as a weird comparison, but, I threw on some Martinez Brothers afterwards just to see If I was crazy. Obviously the beat is completely different than a “tech” beat, but the idea remains constant. You still probably think I'm crazy, and I may be… Just another way to look at this hit summer track outside of what the mainstream media will say.

At the half way point of 2017 (scary I know), Zedd has left a strong footprint on the year so far with global banger, “Stay” featuring Alessia Cara. I heard that track AT LEAST 27 times on July 4th. You know how it gets, everyone thinks they have the best playlist so everyone gets a turn at the speakers leading us to find out that wow, we all have the exact same playlist. Now ” Get Low” is here to take us into post the post July 4 summer. Peep it below. We likey.
