Armin has made this kind of broadcast a bit of a tradition. He’s live-streamed his Tomorrowland sets before, giving fans who couldn’t make it out to Boom, Belgium a front-row seat from wherever they happen to be. This time around, the stream is being folded directly into A State of Trance itself, essentially turning the weekly radio show into a full-blown live event beamed out of one of the biggest stages in the world.
Tomorrowland’s 2017 edition runs across two weekends in July, and Armin has been a fixture on the mainstage lineup for years as one of the festival’s most reliable headliners. With ASOT having built a reputation as one of the longest-running and most listened-to trance radio shows on the planet, pairing it with a Tomorrowland mainstage slot is about as big a stage as the format is ever going to get.
It’s also a smart move for fans stuck at home. Tomorrowland tickets sell out almost instantly every year, and the festival’s live streams have become the next best thing to actually making the trip to Boom — letting people all over the world tune in together in real time instead of waiting for a recap video days later. Folding that into ASOT means the broadcast gets Armin’s full radio show treatment: tracklists, drops, and probably a few surprises he’s been sitting on.
Mark your calendars for July 28th at 1pm — you can catch the broadcast live at ASOT.TV, and we’ll be tuned in right alongside you.
