Cosmic Gate’s Materia Chapter. One Gets Extended

Trance legends Cosmic Gate dropped their album Materia Chapter. One in January. Our review of it can be found here. On April 21st Materia Chapter. One (The Extended Mixes) was released. True to the definition of extended, the songs are longer. Yet they do not lose their punch.

One of the tracks that saw the biggest boost in time was “Dynamic.” Cosmic Gate teamed up with another huge name, Ferry Corsten, to deliver the massive track. The album mix was 3:19 but the extended mix is 6:06. About 3 minutes of new material has been added to the front of the song. The album mix is the back half on the new extended version.

Sticking with the standard trance formula, the intro is lengthy percussion. Bass and synths slowly come in, building the anticipation. Then it all slows back down, showing hints of what is to come. After all this, the album mix is heard. Big kicks, strong bass, and everything else that made “Dynamic” a success all remains there.

Cosmic Gate has a few dates in the US before going to Europe, and then hitting some festivals. You are likely to hear these extended mixes at their performances. We have provided the means to stream “Dynamic” down below. A link to stream and buy Materia Chapter. One (The Extended Mixes) can be found here.
