We all get used to listening to the same tracks, the same genres, the same artists because we don't want to leave what we are comfortable with and just want to stick with what we know. Allow us to pull you away from the comfort zone a bit for just a few minutes. We have a new full-length CD called “Lingua Franca” that was just released by Dugo. If you know who Dugo is, then you know why we are saying that it takes a bit of a risk to listen to Dugo. It's not to make it seem that it's risky because it may not be good, rather, it's eloquently unique that your ears may not now this type of music.
To begin, “Lingua Franca” has the general sound of what most video game soundtracks would have, but this one throws in a twist of World sounds to separate it from the pack. Well, if you do find it a bit similar to some of the music from Metal Gear Solid 4, well, it's because he was the composer for that game. What a trip, right! Nevertheless, this album was 10 years in the making with an international assembly of artists – guitar players, violinists, photographers – Dugo is the culmination of his grand vision of what an independent solo album should be. Give it a shot and take a calculated risk with us by listening to “Lingua Franca” below.
