Deadmau5 to Stream New Design Cube and New Album Material
Cube 2.1? New Album? Deadmau5 has been top of the talk in the dance industry for the past couple of weeks. From the announcement of his new album ‘W:/2016ALBUM/’ to his announcement of the new cube, Joel Zimmerman doesn’t fail to surprise us with new Deadmau5 material.
Tonight at 10pm ET/7pm PT, Joel will go live on his youtube channel to stream some new album material before it’s release tomorrow. His “Live in Rehearsals” session will also include his new cube 2.1 stage design, which has been teased by the fellow star for the last few days.
This is being billed as a proper YouTube partnership for the album rollout, not just a random livestream tacked on last minute. The plan is for deadmau5 to perform a handful of tracks off the new record live, with 360-degree camera coverage so fans watching from home can actually take in the full stage from every angle instead of just whatever the director decides to point the camera at. Considering how much effort has clearly gone into the new Cube design, that full-coverage approach feels like the right call.
