James Wiltshire Talks About The Origins Of Techno

Techno is a sound that has become more than just a genre. It's the soundtrack of a community of people that may consider themselves “underground”, but they've been low key determining the direction of pop music since it's birth. It is a sound that is tried in true. With many sub-genres techno has grown to be a massive collection of tunes that combine aspects of electronica with influences of disco and funk. Making it, arguably, the most popular factions under the umbrella of dance music.

With that being said, Techno is a sound that is diverse yet centered key elements that can be traced back to origins of the genre. James Wiltshire, a producer behind Freemasons and Beyoncé, has sat down in a Point Blank Music School “Style Guide” to break down the history and sound design that created the cult following no behind the techno scene.
