Shambhala, for me and for thousands of others, is the highlight of our year. The word “Shambhala” is of Buddhist origin and is the name for a place where reality is as much spiritual as it is physical. Taking place August 5th to the 8th in the scenic Kootenay mountains of British Columbia, this 4 day retreat/festival is considered a pilgrimage home to many. Maxing out at a capacity of 10,000 people, this festival brings in music lovers from all walks of life to celebrate music, life and art together.
The festival features six extremely unique stages stacked with headliners playing all night supported by cutting edge lighting and world-class sound from Funktion One and PK Sound. Wherever you may find yourself on the ranch you will be surrounded by wonderful art installations, the most beautiful people in the world and more breathtaking nature than can be absorbed. Unlike many other festivals, Shambhala has never accepted any corporate sponsorship and is family run. This shows in all aspect of the festival; every single person on the ranch is full of love and kindness. Everyone is excited to be a key part of the magical farmily that makes such a wonderful festival happen. Shambhala also contracts out its stages and allows them all to be ran by separate companies. This allows each stage complete control over their direction and lineups meaning that new music is constantly on the brink of discovery while the music you love plays non-stop.
The lineup for this year's 19th annual event reaches all corners of electronic dance music featuring performances by Boys Noize,Autograf, xxyyxx,Marshmello,Excision,Snails,Nightmares on Wax,Troiboi,Emancipator and that's just scratching the surface. Be sure to check out the full lineup below and consider joining the family.
