The London-based house and techno duo, Dusky, are announcing their second album, Outer, by teasing the lead single off of the record, a rave-y piece of electronica titled “Ingrid Is A Hybrid.” In the half-decade since the release of their debut album, Dusky has been at the forefront of dance music's blossoming underground scene, delivering quality singles and EPs that have kept their fans on their toes, but with an album on the horizon, it's officially time to amp up the excitement for Dusky. “Ingrid Is A Hybrid” is a clear departure from their signature house and techno style in favor of a decidedly rave/electronica hybrid that isn't typical for Dusky. The UK duo opens the track with a big, atmospheric introduction that paves the way for lush, spacey synth melodies, throwback vocals, and a funky rhythm with retro vibes. Ingrid may be a hybrid, but this tune is an undeniable electronica anthem.
In celebration of the announcement of Outer, Dusky said, “We spent a lot of time discussing which single we should share first from our forthcoming album and all eventually agreed that ‘Ingrid Is A Hybrid’ was the right choice,” explained Nick and Alfie. “It references a lot of the wider influences and tastes we have explored with our album, but also feels like a natural progression for what Dusky represents to us. We hope you like it.”
