Bassnectar Fan Captured in Iconic Photo That Lands on New York Times Cover

Over the weekend on May 2, the New York Times ran an article depicting the tragic results of a homicide in Baltmore which led to widespread protest. The story reveals that 6 Baltimore Police Officers were charged last week for the death of 25 year-old African-American Freddie Gray.

Among the protestors in a powerful image (below) that was on the front of the printed version of the Times, there is only one visible white person depicted. She is rocking purple hair, a big smile, and wearing a Bassnectar t-shirt.

Known for being a strong proponent of spiritual awareness in his messages, Bassnectar fans will be proud to see their fellow basshead protesting such a cause. You can get more info on Bassnectar and get clothes like this in his online store. Check out Bassnectar on Facebook and his website as well for upcoming tour dates and music.

You can see the full image gallery from the New York Times here. Check out the reaction from Bassnectar and the Times cover below.
