The Italian duo, VINAI, changed the game when they released ‘Bounce Generation' with TJR and have continued to make everyone bounce, with their addictive sound and style. Their latest original track, ‘Legend' was officially released about a week ago, and currently sits just outside the Top 10 on Beatport's Top 100 Chart. Once known simply as “ID”, VINAI eventually came out and confirmed to be responsible for the track. ‘Legend' only adds to their extensive resume of successful tracks, truly establishing themselves as a duo who is here to stay. I had a chance to catch up with them and ask about ‘Legend', their performance at Ultra Music Fest this year, and several other topics.
What can you tell me about the ‘Legend'? How would you describe it?
Legend is a very special record for us, we started this project more than one year ago and we spent a lot of time finding out the right sounds to use, finding out the right structure of the track, finding out the right vocal shout…. We are super happy with this final result also because it’s a sound-changing step in our production career.
Where did the inspiration come from?
Everything. Sometimes it's just from a sound, sometimes it's a melody and also sometimes it's place in the world we've visited.
What else are you currently working on? Any collaborations you can tell us? Remixes?
Our next solo single will be the new project, together with two new collabs but we cannot tell you with who yet.
You guys killed it at Ultra this year, what was UMF like?
It was insane! It was also our first time in Miami ever, every producer was there, every one in this business was there, so we met a lot of very nice people, it was a very good experience. And one hell of a party too!!
VINAI has a packed summer ahead of them, with tons of tour dates all over the World. When asked about what they are looking forward to, they replied with, “just to play”. It's what they like to do everyday, and they can't wait. I personally enjoy VINAI's energy and the “Bounce” that they bring in their tracks. When asked about where this all came from, they said it's all from their crazy minds. 2014 was a huge year for the brothers, as we saw them release hit after hit, truly establishing themselves as a powerhouse in electronic music. They were ultimately rewarded by charting at #62 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's Chart for 2015. It was a huge step for them, and VINAI hopes to reach an even better spot next year, while continuing to release good music that the fans will enjoy. It's almost a certainty that VINAI will see another big jump on DJ Mag's chart when it is released in the fall of 2015. The future is as bright as ever for VINAI.
