Watch How Junkie XL Composed the 300: Rise of An Empire Soundtrack

Dutch electronic dance producer and DJ Junkie XL (Tom Holkenberg) is well known for his 2002 remix of Elvis' “A Little Less Conversation” and many other huge collaborations over his legendary career, but his recent work in film scores has been most impressive. Junkie XL recently collaborated with Hans Zimmer on soundtracks for Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and Madagascar. Now he's working on the 300: Rise of the Empire sequel and this video shows the amazing work he did to create new instruments to help make an original score that sounded authentic.

Junkie XL is also known for collaborations with artists like Nicky Romero and Tiesto. Check out his website for more recent releases as well. Here's his latest remix of “Molly's E” with Nicky Romero:

In case you haven't seen it or forgot, the Elvis remix was used for a Nike ad in the 2002 World Cup that featured the Elvis “A Little Less Conversation Remix.” Junkie XL is the only person to be asked to remix an Elvis song by Elvis Presley's team and allowed to do so.
