With the passing of Robert Miles there have been a lot of tributes to him, especially his song Children. Jackson Snapp & Gurardian have been working on a remix of the hit for months and were not trying to capitalize on the tragedy however the work they put in on this track really deserves some attention. This melodic dubstep remix of Children is quite honestly my favorite remix to date.
The track begins with an atmospheric ambience which is then followed by the iconic piano intro of the song. At the 0:54 mark the bass hits and you feel the power that is brought to the song. The growling bass is surrounded by fluttering arpeggios that add complexity and depth to this already full track. The song relaxes for a bit with some delicate synths until it starts to ascend towards the second drop. This glitched out dubstep drop hits with vigor and really drives home the song. The passing of Robert Miles is a tragedy and while it was not their intention, Jackson Snapp & Guardian have really honored him with this amazing remix.
