The Chicago Blackhawks Celebrated at The Mid With Tiesto

Last night, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning to win the Stanley Cup playoffs. As any hockey team would, the Chicago Blackhawks decided to take their Stanley Cup out partying with them after their big win.
After ordering a lot of beer and pizza to the United Center locker room, the Blackhawks made their way to a Chicago nightclub called The Mid. At The Mid, the Chicago Blackhawks got a special surprise visit from none other than Tiesto.

The win marked the Blackhawks' third Stanley Cup in six years, joining their 2010 and 2013 championships to cement the core of Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith as one of the defining dynasties of that era of the NHL. Chicago beat Tampa Bay 4-2 in the series, closing it out at home in front of the United Center crowd before the party inevitably spilled out into the city's nightlife scene.

Tiesto stepping in to help throw the party wasn't just a random celebrity cameo, either — Chicago's dance music scene and its sports culture have crossed paths plenty of times over the years, and a champion team blowing off steam at one of the city's biggest clubs is about as natural a pairing as it gets. The Mid stayed a fixture of Chicago's nightlife scene for years after this party before eventually closing its doors in 2019, but for one night in June of 2015 it was the epicenter of the city's celebration, Stanley Cup and all.
