An artist known as Rebecca Monk was very displeased when she found out Diplo stole her .gif and used it in a background to preview his new music without giving proper credit. Diplo posted the .gif video on his Instagram, which was originally a video from his Snapchat story, of a new collaboration with Jack U and Missy Elliot seen here,
Diplo only edited the original caption to add ‘credit by rebeccamonk' after she contacted him via Twitter to tell him he didn't ask for permission. Many people took notice and the result is a sarcastic Twitter rampage by Diplo, also known as ‘.Gif Gate'.
