Sam Feldt is the guy who made “tropical house” feel like an actual mood and not just a genre tag. Born Sammy Boeddha Renders in the Netherlands, he’s been one of Dutch dance music’s most consistent hitmakers for over a decade now, and it all clicked into place with his 2015 remake of Robin S.’s “Show Me Love.” That remix wasn’t just a viral moment — it cracked the top 5 of the UK Singles Chart and went gold in Australia, basically writing the blueprint for the sun-soaked, steel-drum-laced sound a whole wave of producers chased afterward.

He didn’t stop there. “Summer on You” with Lucas & Steve turned into the most-played song on Dutch radio that fall and went platinum, and “Post Malone” racked up hundreds of millions of streams and became one of those tracks you couldn’t escape at a festival for a solid year. His debut album Sunrise dropped in 2017, followed by the extended Sunrise to Sunset, and he’s kept building from there — collabs with Jonas Blue, Anitta, JVKE, and remix work for names as big as Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, and P!nk.

In 2020 Sam launched his own imprint, Heartfeldt Records, kicking things off with “Hold Me Close” alongside Ella Henderson. Heartfeldt has since become his home base for both his own output and a platform for up-and-coming producers working in that same warm, melodic house lane. It’s less a vanity label and more a whole ecosystem at this point, with its own radio show and events tied in.

2024 was a big year off the decks too — Sam toured alongside Kygo and became a first-time dad to his son Florian. Then in May 2025 he came back with his sophomore album, Time After Time, showing he’s still got plenty of ideas left in the tank well over ten years into his career.

What makes Sam Feldt stick around when so many “tropical house guy” acts faded out is that he never got boxed in by the sound he helped popularize. He’s moved through deep house, pop-leaning collabs, and full album statements without losing the warmth that made “Show Me Love” hit in the first place. Whether he’s headlining a festival main stage or dropping a new signee on Heartfeldt, the throughline is the same: melodic, feel-good dance music built to soundtrack a summer, made by someone who clearly still loves making it.
