MPH, real name Myles Fairbairn, is one of the names leading the charge in the current UK garage and bass revival, and honestly if you’ve been anywhere near a UKG set in the last few years you’ve probably already heard him without knowing it. He came up the way a lot of the best UK dance producers do: as a DJ first, cutting his teeth on house-party sets and getting obsessed with classic DJ EZ Boiler Room mixes before he ever touched a DAW. Once he did pick up FL Studio, there was no looking back.

MPH’s sound sits right in that sweet spot of UK garage and bass — vibey but gritty, built on FM donks, reese basses, and ethereal vocal chops that somehow still bang in a club. He’s released across a run of respected labels including Bingo Bass, Saucy Records, Highly Swung Records, Nuvolve, and Crucast, and picked up early cosigns from Darkzy, Skepsis, Skream, Disclosure, and Chris Lake along the way. His breakthrough single “Bliss,” inspired by Todd Edwards’ classic 4×4 style, put him on a lot of people’s radar early.

His debut album 132.00FM dropped on Night Bass Records in February 2023, a seven-track project he built like a mixtape rather than a random collection of songs, splitting the record into a darker, more aggressive opening run before flipping into melodic, upbeat territory. He’s cited Taiki Nulight, Flava D, Champion, Royal-T, and DJ Q as key influences on that sound. In October 2025 he followed it up with his third album, Substance, an ambitious concept record made with Suffolk rapper EV that tracks an entire night out from pre-drinks to peak rave to the next-day comedown.

That same month, MPH got the surprise of his career when Thomas Bangalter — yes, of Daft Punk — played two of his tracks during his first DJ set in sixteen years, mixing “Raw” straight into “Digital Love.” MPH found out from a fan flooding his DMs at 3 AM and has said he’s still not totally over it. Between that co-sign and his growing catalog, MPH is proof that the UK garage underground is still producing some of the most exciting new talent in dance music right now.
