Lucas & Steve

Lucas & Steve are the Dutch house duo who’ve made “feel good” their whole brand, turning warm melodies and radio-ready hooks into one of the most consistent runs in modern house music. Made up of Lucas de Wert and Steven Jansen, the pair are from Maastricht, Netherlands, and formed their partnership back in 2010. It took a few years of grinding before Spinnin’ Records came calling in December 2014, bringing them into the fold through the label’s Spinnin’ Deep imprint, which was the perfect home for their melodic, future house-leaning sound.

Their track “Calling On You,” featuring Jake Reese, gave them their first real taste of mainstream chart recognition, landing on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. From there, Lucas & Steve built a catalog full of instantly recognizable, sun-soaked house records. “Summer On You” with Sam Feldt and Wulf became a go-to festival and radio record, “Feel Alive” with Pep & Rash kept the momentum going, and “You Don’t Have to Like It” with Janieck rounded out a run of hits through the late 2010s. They’ve also linked up with some of dance music’s biggest names, including W&W on “Do It for You” in 2020, plus collaborations with Afrojack, DubVision, and Galantis. Their debut album “Letters to Remember” dropped in October 2020, giving fans a full look at their sound outside the club format.

Lucas & Steve haven’t slowed down heading into the mid-2020s. In October 2024, Nexus Radio honored them with the Future of Dance Award, recognizing their steady rise as one of house music’s most reliable hitmaking teams. That same year they dropped “Heart First” featuring Jordan Shaw, and they kept the new music coming into 2025 with “Oh My Lord” and “Love on Hold.”

What’s kept Lucas & Steve relevant for over a decade is their refusal to chase trends. Their sound has always leaned melodic and euphoric rather than aggressive, and that consistency has turned them into one of the most trusted names in future house, the kind of act that can headline a festival stage or soundtrack a summer road trip with equal ease.
