Before he was topping charts, FISHER was chasing waves. Paul Nicholas Fisher, born November 5, 1985, grew up on Australia’s Gold Coast and spent his early years competing on the World Surf League Qualifying Series before trading the ocean for the studio in 2012. That surfer’s background isn’t just trivia, it’s baked into everything about his brand: laid-back, sun-soaked, and built for good times.

Fisher’s first real foray into dance music came as one half of Cut Snake, a duo he formed with fellow surfer Leigh “Sedz” Sedley, playing shows together while still bouncing around the pro surfing circuit. Eventually he stepped out on his own, dropping his solo debut single “Ya Kidding” in June 2017.

Then came “Losing It.” Released in July 2018, the track became an instant tech house anthem, riding that now-iconic vocal sample all the way to number one on the ARIA Club Tracks Chart and topping Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, his first U.S. number one. It even scored a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. If you were anywhere near a festival main stage in 2018 and 2019, you heard that drop.

Fisher followed it up with the Oi Oi EP and 2020’s Freaks on Catch & Release, along with “You Little Beauty,” which gave him a second Dance Club Songs number one in 2019. He’s stayed prolific and consistent ever since, with recent output including “Take It Off” and “Atmosphere” in 2023, plus collaborations with Flowdan on “Boost Up” and AR/CO on “Ocean” in 2024. He also linked up with Chris Lake and Sante Sansone for a 2024 remix of “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

What makes Fisher’s sets stand out is the sheer joy of them. He built a reputation as one of house music’s most entertaining live performers, all bouncing energy, big drops, and crowd-baiting one-liners, without ever losing the groove that makes tech house work in the first place. That combination of chaos and craft has kept him a fixture at the top of the game: Fisher landed at No. 7 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs in 2025.

From pro surfer to one of house music’s most beloved showmen, FISHER has proven that “Losing It” wasn’t a fluke, it was just the beginning.
