Cloonee
Cloonee has become one of the defining names in tech house, and if you’ve been to basically any major festival or Ibiza-adjacent club night in the last few years, you’ve probably danced to his stuff without even needing to check the lineup. Born Dave Bissett in Sheffield, England, back in August 1993, Cloonee came up through the UK’s underground tech house scene in the mid-2010s, picking up early support from scene heavyweights like Michael Bibi and PAWSA along the way.
His breakout came with 2019’s “Like What?” — a track that turned into one of those records you’d hear everywhere, from Ibiza terraces to sweaty warehouse parties, cementing him as a name to watch. He was signed to Solid Grooves early in his run, and his sound has always leaned into rolling basslines, crisp percussion, and vocal hooks that stick with you well after the track ends. In 2021, he launched his own label, Hellbent Records, built around darker, groove-heavy club tools — a smart move that gave him a home for the rawer side of his catalog outside of bigger imprints like Elrow.
Since then, Cloonee’s output has been relentless. Tracks like “Lose Control” (2021), “Sun Goes Down” (2022), “Sippin’ Yak” and “Stephanie” (both 2024), and “X-Rated” (2025) have kept him a fixture on Beatport’s tech house charts, and his streaming numbers on playlists like Mint and Housewerk speak for themselves. Beatportal named him Artist of the Month in April 2025, which tells you where his stock has been heading.
2026’s been another massive year — he’s linked up with Leeds duo Prospa for the title track of their debut album “Free Your Mind,” and his touring schedule reads like a who’s-who of festival season: EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo, Shambhala, plus club dates at Club Space Miami, Brooklyn Army Terminal, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He’s sharing bills with names like Tiësto and Martin Garrix at this point, which is wild considering where he started.
What makes Cloonee stick out in a crowded tech house field is consistency — he’s not a one-hit producer riding a viral moment, he’s built a genuine catalog and a label to match, and he keeps showing up on lineups that matter. If tech house has an MVP roster right now, Cloonee’s on it.
