Amtrac is the project of producer Caleb Cornett, and if you know his stuff, you know the whole appeal is how melodic and emotionally direct it is compared to a lot of house music. He’s never been interested in just filling a floor with generic loops — his tracks are built like actual songs, with real hooks and feeling behind them, which is what’s made him stand out in a crowded house scene for years now.
Cornett came up through Ghostly International, a label known for taking chances on artists who don’t fit neatly into one box, and that early home fits: Amtrac’s catalog blends deep house foundations with pop songwriting instincts. Eventually he took the next step most producers dream about and launched his own imprint, Openers, kicking it off with the “1987” EP and the “Piano Boy” single and video, which Billboard covered as a real moment for him stepping fully into control of his own sound and rollout.
That label move mattered — it wasn’t just a vanity imprint. Openers gave Amtrac a platform to put out music exactly the way he wanted, on his own timeline, and to spotlight the kind of melodic, song-driven house that doesn’t always get pushed by bigger dance labels chasing festival-ready bangers.
He’s remained a steady presence on the road, with tour dates running well into 2026 at rooms and clubs across the country, proof that the melodic house lane he’s carved out still has a real, dedicated audience showing up night after night. Amtrac isn’t chasing the loudest drop in the room — he’s chasing the song, and that’s exactly why people keep coming back.
