Halsey is an American singer and songwriter. Her real name is Ashley Frangipane, but she uses the stage name “Halsey”–a reference to the Halsey Street station of the New York City subway. Halsey's musical style has been described as indie pop, synth-pop, and alternative pop. She first gained attention when she released a trio of self-recorded songs to Tumblr in 2012. One of these songs, “Ghost,” went viral on the social media platform, and led to Halsey being signed by Astralwerks records. Since then, she has released two studio albums,Badlands(2015) andhopeless fountain kingdom(2017). Halsey has also been featured on several high-profile collaborations, including “Closer” with The Chainsmokers and “Him & I” with G-Eazy.
