The Chainsmokers are an American electronic music duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. The duo started out by making remixes of popular songs before releasing their debut EP, Bouquet, in October 2015. Their first single, “#Selfie”, was released in January 2014 and peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Chainsmokers' second single, “Don't Let Me Down”, featuring Daya, was released in April 2016 and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In January 2017, the duo won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Don't Let Me Down”. The Chainsmokers' third single, “Closer”, featuring Halsey, was released in July 2016 and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks, becoming their first and only song to date to top the chart. As of March 2018, the song has sold over 6 million copies in the United States. The Chainsmokers' fourth single, “Something Just Like This”, was released in February 2017 and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On April 13, 2018, The Chainsmokers announced that their debut studio album will be titled Memories…Do Not Open and is set to be released on April 7.
