It was reported by the local news outlet in Grand Rapids, MI (the city closest to Rothbury where Electric Forest takes place) that a local man got mugged at gunpoint for tickets to Electric Forest which is currently taking place.
Stolen Tickets, Suspect Still At Large
Apparently the man set up a deal to sell his tickets via Craigslist and in an unfortunate twist he was in fact mugged. The robber took the festival tickets, the victims car keys as well as the cash he had on hand. In a weird twist he then decided to flee on foot instead of completing his carjacking.
Police were unsuccessful in finding the suspect. Let us reiterate a now obvious piece of information. DO NOT USE CRAIGSLIST TO SELL TICKETS. There are several legitimate ticket resale platforms such as Stubhub. Most festivals will also allow you transfer ownership of tickets if contacted directly. Know who you are selling to or use an approved platform in order to stay safe!
