Space Laces AKA Ian from Louisville, KY, is a name to watch in 2014. After a number of mixes with Excision, and the hit “Fang Banger” with Bro Safari in 2013, he's released this great preview of his next tune, “Say It Ain't So.” To describe the instrumentals of this track, it's kind of like if you took a Savoy song and had Deadmau5 remix it. A little Big Gigantic feel as well. We can sense the Jazzy influence but you have to acknowledge the melodic build-ups and 80's funk. Another reason to love Space Laces is how serious he takes himself. His bio picture on Soundcloud is Pee Wee Herman and none of his song titles, tags, or related info can help you know anything about what you're going to hear. In fact, there are so many food references that he could be just tagging things that he eats. This kind of genre and structure rebellion deserves notice. Listen to the teaser, no release date yet:
