“Wish It Was You” begins with a euphoric synth melody that leads into Cate Downey’s dreamy vocals. The lyrics, focusing on the sadness of trying to find the one you love, carry you into the gentle build of that classic progressive drop. While the drop is still powerful, it doesn’t punch you in the stomach like the “everybody jump” days of the early 2010s. A refreshing twist indeed!
