The Avalanches don’t really do anything small, do they? The Australian sample wizards just laid out the full tracklist for No Bad Memories, their first album in six years, and it’s a 31-track monster with a guest list that reads like a festival poster: Jamie xx, Barry Can’t Swim, Karen O, Rivers Cuomo, Carly Simon, Mike Patton, Panda Bear, Jessy Lanza and plenty more. The whole thing arrives October 16 via Modular Recordings.

It’s been a minute — their last record, We Will Always Love You, dropped back in 2020. This one has a concept, too: according to the announcement, the album explores “the simultaneously magical and insidious ways that advertising and name-brand technology wraps itself around our memories.” And the track titles fully commit to the bit. You get “Xerox Altalink B8055,” “Logoland,” “SUV Heaven,” and two fake commercials — “El Dorado TV Spot” and “Superfun!™ TV Spot” — featuring Haley Joel Osment, who somehow appears on this album twice. Yes, that Haley Joel Osment.

If you’re coming at this from the dance side, there’s a lot to circle. Jamie xx turns up on “Every Single Weekend,” which is already out in the world. Barry Can’t Swim pulls double duty on “Magic Wand” and “Our Love Is Alive,” where he shares a track with synth legend Suzanne Ciani — a pairing nobody had on their 2026 bingo card. Nikki Nair and Jessy Lanza both feature on lead-off single “Together,” Vegyn shows up twice, and John Glacier, Erick the Architect and Ryoji Ikeda all get callups before Japanese electronic pioneer Haruomi Hosono closes the record on “The Pavements Light.”

Four singles are already floating around: “Every Single Weekend,” the Karen O collab “Blue Shadows,” “Can’t Get Over Losing You” and “Together.” A few tracks are digital-only exclusives, while the vinyl, CD and cassette versions get their own bonus cut, “Evergreen Altar” with Vegyn. Classic Avalanches move — making completists buy everything.

Whether anything can touch Since I Left You is a debate for another day, but a 31-track Avalanches record built around late-capitalist memory rot, with half the electronic underground in the credits? That’s an easy sell. October 16 can’t come soon enough.
