London’s most famous basement club is heading somewhere with considerably higher ceilings. fabric announced today that it’s entering a four-year partnership with St Paul’s Cathedral, bringing a series of contemporary music events to the 300-year-old landmark through 2030. The first night — fabric at St Paul’s Cathedral — lands on October 29, 2026, in London, and pre-sale registration is already open.

If this pairing sounds familiar, that’s because fabric has already tested the waters — twice. The club staged a sold-out show with RY X and the London Contemporary Orchestra under the cathedral’s dome in 2024, then brought in Patti Smith in September 2025. Both nights sold out fast enough that a longer arrangement apparently made sense to everyone involved, church included.

Nobody’s been announced for the October 29 opener yet, so don’t expect a 4am techno rave beneath the Whispering Gallery. Going by the first two editions, think ambitious, orchestral-leaning contemporary music that actually works in a space with that much reverb — the kind of programming that explores what modern music sounds like inside one of the world’s most famous buildings.

“fabric has always been about bringing people together through music and creating experiences that stay with people,” co-founder Cameron Leslie said in the announcement, calling the four-year run an incredibly exciting opportunity.

There’s something quietly poetic about the geography here, too. St Paul’s sits less than a mile from fabric’s home in Farringdon, meaning the club that helped define UK club culture for over 25 years now has a second stage at a cathedral it could practically soundcheck from. According to Mixmag, fabric has form with London landmarks beyond the church — it’s previously run events at The Shard and the British Museum.

It also says a lot about where fabric is in 2026. This is a club that nearly closed for good in 2016, and now it’s signing multi-year deals with one of the most recognizable buildings on Earth. Not a bad arc.

Want in? Pre-sale registration for the October 29 event is live now via fabric’s channels, and given how quickly the RY X and Patti Smith shows disappeared, you probably shouldn’t sit on it. Details on the lineup are expected in the coming weeks.
