Well, that didn’t take long. When we checked the Beatport Top 100 this weekend, there was a new name at the top: Tommy Phillips, whose “Sun is Shining (Lovelee Dae)” has completed its climb from total unknown to the No. 1 track on dance music’s scoreboard — less than two weeks after its August 19 release on Safelight Records.

If you’ve been following along, you saw this coming. We covered the track last Monday when it had just barged into the top five at No. 4, barely five days old. Now it’s gone all the way, and the record it dethroned was no pushover: Ultra Naté, HUGEL and Imael Angel’s “Movin’ To The Sun” — the Coachella-premiered, most-Shazamed-song-in-the-world monster that had been parked at No. 1 since at least mid-August — now sits at No. 2.

There’s more. When we first wrote about it, the track was a Beatport exclusive, and we promised we’d let you know if it ever hit streaming. Consider this that update: it’s since landed on Spotify and SoundCloud, so you no longer need a DJ account to play it on repeat. It’s also crossing over in the UK — the track shows up on this week’s UK Official Singles Sales Chart at No. 25 and the Official Singles Downloads Chart at No. 23, according to the Official Charts Company. Not bad for a house cut built around a loving nod to Blaze’s 1997 classic “Lovelee Dae.”

Quick refresher on the man himself: Phillips is a UK producer who’d been building quietly for a while — his biggest prior look was an official mau5trap remix of deadmau5 and Kaskade’s “I Remember” back in March 2025, plus a single through Warner Records. This is the first record of his own to tear up the main chart, and it’s now done so about as thoroughly as possible.

As for the rest of the board? Remarkably stable. Almost everything from our top 10 rundown earlier this month is still hanging around: Rooléh’s “Want To Know” has climbed to No. 3, the Michael Bibi, KETTAMA and Wu-Tang Clan flip “MYSTERY OF RAW” holds No. 4, and Cloonee and Prospa still appear twice. The formula hasn’t changed — groove-first house and golden-era vocals keep winning — but the guy applying it best right now came out of nowhere eleven days ago.

Does “Sun is Shining” have the legs to stay up there through the end of festival season? Ask the two 1990s vocals sitting right behind it — apparently classics don’t age. We’ll keep watching the chart so you don’t have to.
