Chase & Status just gave drum & bass fans an October to circle on the calendar. The UK duo announced their new album Generic Everything on Wednesday, set for release on October 9, 2026 — and the guest list is genuinely wild. Skrillex, Little Simz, J Hus, Giggs, and D Double E all show up across the ten tracks. They also dropped a new single, “Gone Too Far” with rising UK vocalist Debbie, to go with the news.

So what’s on it? The tracklist reads like a who’s who of UK music right now: “Carnage” features Little Simz, “Essa Ta Quente” pairs the duo with Skrillex, “Timber” brings in Giggs, and “Levels” taps grime legend D Double E. Lead single “Disgruntled,” featuring J Hus and IRAH, has been out since late July, and the album closes with “Shutdown” featuring IRAH and Col3trane.

The title isn’t random, either. “Generic Everything is about resisting the pressure to become the same as everyone else,” the duo said in the announcement. “In a world shaped by AI, algorithms and endless content, creativity is constantly being pushed towards what’s familiar, safe and predictable.” Coming from two producers who’ve spent nearly two decades refusing to sit still — jungle revivals, arena D&B, grime crossovers — that mission statement tracks.

“Gone Too Far” itself has a longer backstory than you’d guess. According to the band, the track sat unfinished for years: “We started this record many years ago and knew it felt special but could never find the right voice to finish it. After hearing Debbie’s incredible voice, we reached out to see if she would be up for collaborating and finally, after all this time, we’re excited it’s found the light of day.”

The Skrillex feature is worth flagging on its own. He’s been on an absolute tear through UK sounds this summer — his garage link-up with MPH on “Mirage” landed just last week — so a proper Chase & Status collab feels like the natural next step. Little Simz on a drum & bass record? That one you’ll just have to hear.

Pre-orders are live now, with standard and limited-edition vinyl plus CD bundles available. While you wait for October 9, the “Disgruntled” video is below — consider it a mission statement of its own.
