Techno Headliner Lilly Palmer Signs With Universal Music and Island Berlin

Lilly Palmer just went major label. The German-Swiss techno star announced this week that she’s officially signed with Universal Music Group, Universal Music Germany, and Island Berlin — and she’s not wasting any time, either. Her first single under the new deal, “Hey You,” arrives this Friday, August 28.

“Years of hard work, passion, and countless late nights led to this moment,” Palmer said in the announcement, in which she also thanked her partner Egbert and her manager. And she dropped a line worth pinning to your studio wall: “Saying no, honoring your boundaries, and having patience to wait for better opportunities will always work in your favor.”

If you’ve been anywhere near a techno main stage in the past few years, you know why Universal came calling. Palmer has climbed from Zurich’s club scene into one of the genre’s most in-demand headliners, stacking festival bookings — including Tomorrowland this summer — while tracks like “Bigger Than Techno” turned her driving, vocal-forward style into a calling card.
