Police Dug Up a Buried Drug Stash at the Creamfields Site
Cheshire Police unearthed a buried stash of nitrous, MDMA, ketamine and novelty-stamped pills at the Daresbury Estate days before Creamfields opens its gates.
Creamfields hasn’t even opened its gates yet and Cheshire Police are already ruining somebody’s weekend. During a pre-event sweep of the festival site on August 24, officers dug up a buried stash that included 204 nitrous oxide cylinders, bags of MDMA and ketamine, and ecstasy pills stamped with Cornetto, Nike T90 and “It’s Coming Home” logos. Yes, really — someone branded their pills after a football chant.
Creamfields runs August 27-30, 2026 at the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, with around 80,000 people expected over the bank holiday weekend. The buried-treasure approach is a known move: stash your supply on site in the days before the fences go up, then casually retrieve it once you’re through security. Cheshire Police clearly know the playbook too, because they go digging every year — and every year they find something.
“Every year we remind those attending Creamfields that there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs,” Superintendent Andy Blizard said in the force’s announcement, adding that specialist search teams expect to turn up more as sweeps continue right through the event. He also couldn’t resist a little victory lap, noting that anyone who buried their stash will likely find it “no longer where they left them.” If that’s you, the police have helpfully invited you to come collect your belongings in person. The find lands in the middle of an eventful week for the festival. John Summit pulled out of his Creamfields slot earlier this month to recharge before his arena tour, and Eric Prydz stepped in for Friday night — which, let’s be honest, is a pretty spectacular consolation prize. The 2026 edition marks 20 years at Daresbury, with Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia and Martin Garrix among the headliners.
