mölly’s debut album 22 is out now on Colorize, and the California producer didn’t just write all eleven tracks — for the first time in her catalog, she’s singing on them too. The record landed Friday (August 21), capping a run that started with her very first single in July 2024. Two years from first upload to full-length. Not a bad pace.
If you haven’t been tracking her, here’s the short version: mölly is a producer, DJ, vocalist, and — yes, really — a yoga teacher, and her melodic house has quietly racked up more than 20 million Spotify streams. According to the label, she’s picked up spins from Nora En Pure, Sultan + Shepard, Above & Beyond, and Tritonal, plus heavy rotation on SiriusXM Chill. That’s about as strong a co-sign list as you can assemble in this corner of dance music. She made our conversation about who’s actually breaking out in 2026 feel a little incomplete, honestly.
Why call it 22? The number kept showing up while she was writing, so she leaned into it. “Looking back, 22 feels less like an album I made and more like a journey I was asked to take,” she said in the announcement. “It challenged so many of the stories I held about myself, about my worth, about love and about what it means to be an artist.” The whole record works through trust, belonging, and letting go — heavy themes, light touch.
She didn’t make it alone, either. The tracklist pulls in MØØNE, Mees Salomé, sandpiper, OCULA, Richard Walters, FARLEY, Afnan Prince, Hessian, and LeyeT, opening with “drops of oil” and moving through eleven cuts that balance club energy with the calmer, more vulnerable stretches. Per the label, the desert shaped a lot of it — Joshua Tree and Daniel Popper’s Transmission sculpture are both cited as inspirations, which tracks once you hear the wide-open atmospherics.
