Hardwell and W&W Keep the Big Room Revival Rolling With “Bangkok”

Hardwell and W&W aren’t done with you yet. Two weeks after “Turn Up The Bass” landed on Revealed Recordings, the Dutch festival titans dropped another one together on Friday — a short, sharp big room missile called “Bangkok.” No slow build, no fake-out breakdown politics. Just two minutes and change of the exact sound these two were put on this earth to make.

They’re not being subtle about why, either. “We heard you guys wanted more of that Hardwell x W&W sound,” the pair wrote on socials. “So we had to drop another one together.” Fair enough. When the demand is there, why fight it?

If you’ve been paying attention this year, none of this is a surprise. Big room — yes, the same big room your 2013 self lost their mind to — is in the middle of a full-blown revival. Research from MIDiA and Splice found big room sample downloads surged 188.9 percent year over year across two years, hitting 5.3 million downloads in 2024. The kids who grew up on festival mainstage YouTube rips are now old enough to make (and buy) this stuff themselves, and the OGs have noticed.

And let’s be honest: few partnerships are more qualified to lead that charge. Hardwell and W&W go way back — “Jumper” in 2013 was a mainstage weapon of mass destruction, and “Live the Night” with Lil Jon carried the flag in 2016. After Hardwell’s return, the two camps have been circling each other again, and 2026 has now given us two collabs in a single month. Sometimes the old chemistry just works.

“Bangkok” itself does exactly what it says on the tin. Pounding kicks, a lead melody built for a hundred thousand hands in the air, and a drop that sounds like it was A/B tested on a festival crowd somewhere in Southeast Asia. Is it reinventing dance music? No. Does it need to? Also no.

The bigger picture here is that Hardwell’s 2026 is quietly stacking up. Between the Revealed machine humming along, festival mainstages fully back on the big room diet, and now a two-for-two collab run with W&W, the Robbert van de Corput business is in a very healthy place right now — and there’s more news on that front this weekend, too.

Stream “Bangkok” everywhere now, and if you make it through without at least one involuntary fist clench, check your pulse.
